I am running with Team Exercise Your Rights this year to support the fight for fair development in Baltimore. When corporate developers receive public subsidy to create luxury homes along the waterfront, much-needed resources are directed away from our neighborhoods. We are left with crumbling vacants that are hazardous to our health- literally collapsing on top of us. Over the past year, we have spoken with thousands of community members whose basic needs are not being met- 1/3 of our city's population is currently experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Together, our community leaders, housing advocates, and workers have built a shared vision to do development differently- with the community leading the way. As our members spearhead Community Land Trust efforts across the city, we are urging public officials to invest in development that doesn't displace us or price us out of our homes-- development that prioritizes human rights and human dignity. Please lend your support for equitable development in Baltimore.
